Strip Mall Signs began after a trip to the Salton Sea, where weathered storefronts and fading signage became an unexpected source of inspiration. Each miniature sculpture is handcrafted from reclaimed wood, painted in acrylic, and mounted on a custom wooden base. Created between 2013 and 2017, the series celebrates the overlooked beauty of California's strip malls, liquor stores, motels, and neighborhood businesses—places that quietly define the state's visual identity.
